Spurs move for Doherty paves way for Aurier exit

Tottenham are closing in on a deal for Wolves right wing back Matt Doherty.

The Irish international is set to leave Molineux after ten years at the club.

He still has three years on his deal, but Spurs are close to agreeing a fee of £15million plus add-ons.

And the Evening Standard says Doherty arriving means Serge Aurier is likely to leave Spurs.

Doherty will count as a homegrown player for Spurs.

He played 50 games for Wolves last term, and Mourinho will be happy about his reliability as he is not one who takes kindly to injury prone players.

Meanwhile, Aurier could be subject to interest from AC Milan and other clubs in Europe.
