Southampton striker Armstrong: Don't blame Jones

Southampton striker Adam Armstrong believes the players are the ones responsible for the club's poor season.

Even after the sacking of Ralph Hasenhuttl, the Saints have not improved their form.

Manager Nathan Jones is yet to win a Premier League game since taking charge.

“It's just football and it happens everywhere, and when things aren't going well it's only right – I was a fan once and I still am," Armstrong told reporters of fans criticizing the performances and playstyle, even after an FA Cup win over Crystal Palace.

“It happens in football but it's how you react and I thought we reacted well, did everything we had to do and got the win.

“It's us on the pitch at the end of the day, we have to get results and we had to get a win to give the fans a little bit of a boost, as well as for ourselves.

“We've been down and we have to go again, we have to get the winning feeling back and especially in the league as well. It's something we're working hard on but we have to put our chances away."
