Injury has restricted the summer signing this season, but he could make a return in Saturday's clash with Arsenal.

"I'd like to see the young Djenepo play on Saturday and get a sustained run, free of injury," said Paine.

"He's given glimpses of hope and if he can get a run in the side and settle down in the side he might just be the difference.

"He's only 21 and only come in this season and got the injury so hasn't really had a chance to establish himself.

"If he can adapt to the Premier League he'll be big asset. But he needs to play in his right position to benefit the team."

The latter arrived for big money in the summer, but has failed to find the back of the net for the Saints.

Ings knows that it can be tough to adjust to a new team, as it took him seven games to get his first goal when he played for Burnley to the Premier League.

And the Englishman believes that Adams has shown quality, and that he will get the goals he craves soon enough.

"I don't think I need to put an arm around him at all," explained Ings to reporters.

"He believes in his own ability and it's an ability that's been proved by the amount of goals he scored last year.

"He knows where the goal is. When you sometimes come to a new club, getting that first goal can be tricky.

"I remember when I first came up to the Premier League with Burnley, it took me a long time to score my first goal, so that can happen.

"Che is an outstanding goalscorer. He is a nightmare for defenders and the goals will come."

Stephens concedes he needed a summer "reset" to find his motivation again.

He told the club's website, I think last year, mentally, I was struggling a bit with football.

I was having a bit of a tough time on the pitch. I was letting it get to me a little bit and my performances probably showed that.

I didn't let it affect my life outside of football I was fine, I was happy, but obviously football is my job and it's my life.

I think it happens to every sports player you have difficult times. As footballers, there are constant ups and downs.

It's sometimes difficult to deal with that, because one minute your emotions are sky high and the next minute you're rock bottom."

He points to his family and friends back in Torpoint, Cornwall, where Stephens grew up and still loves to visit, which offers a release from the pressures of the day job.

Over the summer, he says, he had to reset".

It was nice to have that break," he explains. I gave myself the best opportunity of coming back ready for pre-season.

I just wanted to try to improve as many aspects of my game as possible, but especially the mental side trying to be mentally strong and really mentally driven to reach my goals.

I'm lucky enough I've got good family around me and good friends who have believed in me, so I just have to take their advice and believe in myself."

The Sun says Everton are lining up a 12m January swoop for Cash.

The Toffees have sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old on several occasions already this season impressed by his versatility as both a midfielder and full-back.

And with Cash's current contract expiring in the summer of 2021, Everton and Marco Silva are hoping to make an early bid before his price rockets come May.

Crystal Palace and Southampton are also keeping an eye on Cash, whose status has risen dramatically since progressing through the Forest academy and signing a senior deal in 2016.

Djenepo arrived at the Saints in the summer from Standard Liege.

Most fans expected him to take a while to adapt to the Premier League.

However, the Mali international has shown his quality during every chance he has gotten this season.

Redmond told the Daily Echo about Djenepo: "He is a very, very good kid.

"He is bright, bubbly and doesn't take himself too seriously he's a kid to be honest.

"He is a super-talented boy who is so open-minded and eager to learn every single day. He gets on well with everybody and has fitted in so well.

The St Mary's side are currently languishing in the bottom three following Saturday's disappointing defeat to Everton.

But Hasenhuttl says of their home record: I think it's not a big topic that we didn't win a game at home because the last games also away we didn't win so we must take a good result. If it's tight like against Man City and we still don't get something then it means we are not good enough at the moment.

Why we are not good enough is in the moment to find and I think we do a few things good but in a few things when we try this we are not good enough and that is the problem."

Of his own situation, the Austrian added: I don't think about what I feel about this. In the moment I feel disappointed because we lost a game and that's the only thing I feel and anything else is not interesting for me," he reflected after the Everton defeat.

I try to stay focused for when I come to my team to give them answers for what happens in the moment."
