Southampton striker Adams on victory at Tottenham: Amazing to score winner in front of away support

Southampton striker Che Adams admits the players enjoyed their 3-2 win at Tottenham.

Southampton came from behind twice to claim a memorable 3-2 victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“Obviously everyone's delighted that we got the three points, and the way that we got them is amazing," Adams said. “We were lucky with the disallowed goal.

“In the first half it could've been won, but we stuck to our guns, didn't give up and we got the win in the end.

“That's the belief in the team and the hard work that everyone puts in. We're getting the results on the pitch, which is all that matters, but obviously we're just delighted.

“Everyone put in a massive performance and a massive shift, and we're full of confidence now going into the weekend."

Adams's late header secured Saints' first win at Spurs' state-of-the-art stadium at the fourth attempt.

“Amazing, in front of the away supporters – it doesn't get much better than that," he added.

“You know exactly what you're getting with Prowsey – hard work and great deliveries. That's what he does and we love it.

“As a striker, it's always going to come into the box with quality, so we'll be waiting there and he'll put it right on the money.

“Obviously we had a few chances that we should've scored – mine in the first half. That's part and parcel of football, but we need to be more clinical and not give the fans too much to scream about!"
