Southampton striker Che Adams revealed he is still in contact with ex-coach James Beattie.

The 45-year-old club legend Beattie, who scored 68 goals in 204 games for the club in the late 1990s and early 2000s, spent time with Adams at Birmingham City.

Adams admits that he would love to see Beattie return to the Saints in some coaching capacity in the future.

“I do still speak to him, he gives me the odd pointer," Adams said, per the Daily Echo.

“Beatts is a great guy, he has been tapping me up to get in here!

“He'd be great. He's a great person and what a player as well. An even better person.

“To have someone like that would make it even better. We'll see what happens but I'd like to work with him again."
