Southampton ready to sack Hassenhutl after Leicester humiliation

Southampton are ready to sack manager Ralph Hassenhutl after their 9-0 humiliation at home against Leicester.

The Daily Mail says intermediaries connected to the club have been formulating a list of potential names to replace the Austrian.

Southampton were ripped to pieces by Brendan Rodgers's Leicester team. They were reduced to 10 men in the first half when Ryan Bertrand was sent off but it was the manner in which they collapsed - thanks to lamentable defending - that has put Hassenhutl on the brink.

They now have a goal difference of minus 15 and their inability to keep clean sheets has Southampton's hierarchy fearing for their Premier League prospects.

They have only won two of their 10 fixtures so far and some of Hassenhutl's methods have been questioned within the dressing room.
