Southampton defender Caleta-Car: Hasenhuttl really angry after Crystal Palace defeat

Southampton defender Duje Caleta-Car admits that coach Ralph Hasenhuttl was “really angry" at half-time of their loss to Crystal Palace.

The Saints were unable to get anything from the clash, but dominated the second period after a miserable first half.

While Palace took the points through Odsonne Edouard's opener, Caleta-Car says the Saints can take some consolation from how they played after a half-time team talk from their manager.

“The manager showed us some videos of things we need to do better and we did it better after the break," he explained to reporters post-game.

“The manager was really angry about the first-half because we played really bad and it is not possible in the Premier League to play 45 minutes and get the result.

“It's always bad when you lose, we knew it would be a tough game. In the first-half it was a bad performance, I don't know what happened."

Caleta-Car continued: “At first we played badly, but then in the second-half we played better and I don't know what it was about that.

“We will speak about it, but we started to play and got some chances – to get one point would have been fair for both sides. But that is football."
