Southampton chief exec Martin Semmens admits they could be forced to sell Pierre-Emile Højbjerg this summer.

The Dane has just over a year to run on his contract and is interesting Tottenham and Everton.

"Let's be clear about Pierre. He has been completely honest with us and the rest of the world that he sees himself at the highest level in football," Semmens told BBC Solent Sport.

"He will win the league and he will win the Champions League. Either with us or some others. At some point he has to drive us to that level or move somewhere else to do it.

"If there is a club that can win the Champions League and that thinks Pierre can improve their team and pay for him, then we have to let him go."
