Southampton boss Ruben Selles insists Adam Armstrong is in his plans.
Armstrong is yet to start in the Premier League under Selles but the first-time boss has begun relying on him to come off the bench.
Scorer of just one league goal this season, Armstrong has been utilised by Selles in the latter stages of each of his four games in charge.
Ahead of tonight's clash with Brentford, Selles said: “I think Adam is very robust in his work and he's a player that every other player trusts.
“We know what his strengths are and for those last minutes he always brings exactly what we need. Usually it's his pace into the space, final third situations. But he's also very very generous defensively-wise.
“So either from the start or when he comes into the pitch, I have no doubt about him. He's a great boy so I'm very very pleased with his performance and the way that he's performing for us."
