Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has already identified a first January signing.

Express reports Hasenhuttl wants to bring Borussia Monchengladbach winger Patrick Herrmann to St Mary's.

VfB Stuttgart are also eyeing the 27 year-old midfielder, who admits he is open to a departure from Gladbach.

"Of course you think about it. If you are not in the squad anymore, it will be difficult (to stay)," said Hermann.

The winger is rated highly by the new Saints manager, who is convinced he would fit in well with his tactics and squad.
