Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl says Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will remain available for selection.
James Ward-Prowse replaced Hojbjerg as club captain this week after the Dane refused to commit to new terms.
“There are no concerns about whether he should play or not – he knows he's an important player for us," Hasenhuttl claimed.
“He still has a contract with this club and as long as he's here, he'll be a very important player for this team.
“There's no question about him not playing. I have a very good relationship with him. He is a fantastic player, helps our game massively, is in fantastic shape and is really hungry to play the best possible season for us for the last nine games.
“He is a good example of professionalism. This is the reason why I have no problem with using him."
