Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is hoping that centre-back Duje Caleta-Car can step up for the team.
The deadline day signing will have to step into the first team after injuries to the likes of Armel Bella-Kotchap, Tino Livramento, and Romeo Lavia.
As his side prepares to take on Bournemouth in the Premier League, Hasenhuttl spoke about the fact his side did manage to secure Caleta-Car so late in the window.
“I still think you can feel that Duje didn't really play for a long time, not playing much at the end of last season," he told reporters.
“You can feel he is lacking the rhythm a little or the confidence, and this is what we are trying to build up with him.
“It's important for him to show up with the ball and with his aerial qualities. He's definitely a player we are hoping can replace Armel very well."
