Southampton are closing on a deal for Sampdoria striker Stefano Okaka.

The Mail on Sunday says Southampton are in talks with Sampdoria over a deal for Okaka.

The 25-year-old Italy international had a spell on loan at Fulham under Roy Hodgson and has also been watched by Stoke this season.

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero and the player's agent Claudio Vigorelli are in London for talks and Okaka hopes to sign over the next week.
