Solskjaer pleased as Man Utd kickoff preseason with win

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was pleased with their 2-0 friendly win at Perth Glory.

Marcus Rashford and James Garner struck the goals for the visitors.

The manager said, "It was a game where we had the ball all the time, kept possession well, played against a well organised team that didn't give us many gaps.

"45 minutes for most of them which was the main objective today, and of course winning games."

On Daniel James' debut, he added: "He started well, it was a good start and we'll nurture him and its exciting to watch him play many games."

Solskjaer said of Rashford's goal: "Very pleased with the goal he scored, instincts. It's not one of the pretty goals but its a goal I've said Marcus needs to add to his tally. He gets wondergoals and needs those too."

And on Garner, he concluded: "He was just at the corner kick and I told him to get on the edge of the box and score. It was a fantastic strike, the boy can play, he enjoyed tonight."
