Nicky Shorey is confident Reading boss Steve Coppell will find the right signings needed to improve the present squad.

The England fullback is ready to sign a bumper new deal with the Royals and said: "It looks like it's been one of those years when it's been hard to get new players in.

"There's a lot of competition for the players that are out there but I'm sure the gaffer will be trying to get more people in.

"But even if he doesn't I'm sure we've got a squad here already that will do well."
