Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood can see Phil Foden leaving Manchester City on-loan next season.

Sherwood says Foden will soon need to be playing regularly.

He explained: "At the moment it's really worked for Jadon. Going out to Germany has worked this season for him. For Phil, I believe he's with the best man. Pep Guardiola is the best man for his development.

"He's at a fantastic football club with fantastic players so he will get the opportunity. It needs to come next season. This year he needs to keep dipping his toe in the water by getting that experience and training with the best.

"Next year he needs to play otherwise he needs to go out and play. Not necessarily on a permanent deal but maybe on loan."
