Mark Hughes has stated that Xherdan Shaqiri will have a big impact at Stoke City.

The arrival of Shaqiri has left the Stoke fans extremely excited and now manager Hughes has stated that the Swiss winger will be able to match the hype which has surrounded his arrival by making a positive impact at the Britannia Stadium.

The Welshman said of the club record signing: "He can play 'number 10'. He can play on both sides as well. But predominantly I see him on the right side.

"If he stays healthy and plays regularly, he will have an impact on games.

"He's conscientious and will work hard – that's one of his qualities which is a pre-requisite when you come to play for me."
