Sevilla striker Rafa Mir happy scoring in Man City defeat

Sevilla striker Rafa Mir admitted mixed emotions after defeat at Manchester City.

Mir scored in the 3-1 Champions League defeat on Wednesday night.

He later said: "I am happy to have scored and to have taken this opportunity – but in the end you go home feeling a bit sad because it's slipped away from you. We played a good game but weren't forceful enough and, against teams like this, you pay the price.

"The team competed well for long spells but when you're not decisive against these teams, that makes the difference. They have great players and if you make a mistake bringing the ball out, it's normal they'll score against you.

"We have to keep working.

"We have to trust one another. We are in a moment of crisis - we can't deny that - but there's a long way to go. We have to pick ourselves up, as the derby's coming next."

On playing on the flank, Mir added: "I played there for a long time – I started playing there at Valencia. The gaffer put me there and I think it worked out quite well. I was able to make things happen. I'm going away from here a bit pleased about that, but it's difficult when you don't get a positive result."
