Scholes pleased with first Stoke season from Arnautovic

Stoke City chief Tony Scholes says they're delighted with the first season of Marko Arnautovic.

The Austrian arrived last summer from Werder Bremen.

Scholes told The Sentinel: "The further away from Stoke-on-Trent a player comes, the risk increases because you have to move their family and everything else to the area.

"If you're adding a national border and a language into that equation, then the risk goes up again. For me it's absolutely a fact that if things aren't right for a player in their whole life then they won't be able to deliver on the pitch.

"Marko has handled that transition really well. It is accepted as standard almost that it can take 12 months to come from abroad and get used to the pace and intensity of the Premier League."
