Santiago Mourino is happy with his move to Atletico Madrid.

The young Uruguayan defender has signed for Atletico from Racing de Montevideo and was presented today.

Mourino said: "The first thing is to thank the president (Enrique Cerezo) for the presentation. Coming to Europe, to a club as big as Atlético, fills you with emotion and pride. I'm looking forward to succeeding and embodying my name in the history of the club.

"I'm doing the preseason, I focus on that. It is my objective, to do the preseason and then the leaders will decide (whether to leave on-loan). I am calm and focused on the preseason.

"I found something very nice, a very nice club, a very beautiful group that welcomed me and I am very happy to be here.

"I like being called Mou. I have assimilated it from Uruguay."
