United have been heavily linked with Lyon striker Moussa Dembele and Leicester City playmaker James Maddison.

However, they are prepared to wait until the summer if neither is available at the right price in January.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez has also been monitored, says the Daily Mail.

Felix was injured after shooting at the Valencia goal. Atleti had already made all three substitutions and therefore had to play the final 10 minutes with 10 men.

The Portuguese forward is set to miss between two and three weeks with a grade II right ankle sprain.

"Joao Felix could not finish the 90 minutes of the match played at the Wanda Metropolitano against Valencia CF and had to leave the pitch in the 80th minute," Atleti's statement read.

"The Portuguese has undergone an MRI and X-ray at the Clinica Universidad de Navarra, and the report offered by our medical team indicates that he has suffered a grade II sprain of the external lateral ligament of his right ankle."

Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata have been misfiring this season and although the former opened the scoring on Saturday with a penalty against Valencia, his first home goal of the season, they're not delivering as expected.

"It's hard to give advice to players of such a standing," Simeone said.

"They're in complicated runs [of form]. But the way out is to work, to persist, be simpler in their play, and surely one will soon bounce off their knee and go in.

"We always look for culprits, but the solution is to work, work and work."

Atleti led from the first half but let the points slip in the second, drawing 1-1, as their mixed start to 2019/20 continued.

"We're a new team," Simeone explained.

"We have to get used to the game and we have to find our balance in handling certain spells of the game.

"The problem is when the opponent puts you in a position and you can't solve it. We still have a lot of work to do."

Rodri is stunned by the energy required to play in City's midfield.

"I finish games at City feeling dead," he said.

"If you are constantly taking the initiative in games, as we do, then you have to be constantly moving.

"When you lose the ball, you have to press like crazy to win it back. The physical demands are huge."

United are ready to spend big on six or seven players in the next two transfer windows, following the club's worst start to a league season for 30 years.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to make improvements throughout his squad, with signings targeted at centre-back, left-back, midfield and up front.

And 24-year-old central midfielder Saul has joined Leicester ace James Maddison and Lyon striker Moussa Dembele at the top of United's list of transfer targets, says The Sun.

Saul's deal with Atletico keeps him at the club until 2026, but he is reported to have a release clause of 135m.

Both clubs have agreed to the proposal to hold the 6 December fixture at the Miami Dolphins' Hard Rock Stadium.

La Liga previously failed in an attempt to move Barcelona's meeting with Girona to Miami in January.

The RFEF and the players' union (AFE) were both vocal in objecting to the move on that occasion.

La Liga signed up to play one game a season in the US as part of a 15-year deal with media company Relevent in 2018.

La Liga president Javier Tebas said: "This match would be a further push in La Liga's internationalisation strategy, which is giving all clubs good results. We believe that on this occasion, we will be able to carry out this positive opportunity for everyone, like they already do in other leagues like the NFL and the NBA, outside of their borders."

Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin added: "We would be able to bring Spanish football closer to the fans and followers who live outside of our country. It would be a great game, which would show the way to go in the future."

In Chelsea's case, Bayindir is being considered as a replacement for veteran keeper Willy Caballero.

However, Fener management have no plans to lose their young prospect.

Tied to Fener until 2023, Bayindir arrived in the summer from Ankaragucu.

Eldiario.es reports four people have been arrested connected to raids on homes of players of Real Madrid and Atletico.

The operation was carried out between the cities of Madrid and Toledo, where the alleged criminals were arrested. Law enforcement have managed to recover some valuables that were taken from the homes of the players.

Among the jewels and other belongings, the Champions League runners-up medal of Thomas Partey was found. The Atletico Madrid midfielder's home was raided earlier this month, while he was in Russia for the European match against Lokmotiv Moscow.

Casemiro, Isco, Zinedine Zidane and Alvaro Morata were some of those in Madrid who were victims of robberies.

AS says Real have hatched a medium-term plan to try and lure the 23-year-old from the San Paolo to the Bernabu next summer.

The in-demand player has a contract with the Serie A side until 2023 and Madrid's strategy is to make their interest apparent and attempt to exercise some influence over Fabin's contract negotiations.

As is stands, Fabin has no release clause in his deal, which runs to 2023, and given interest from Madrid, Barcelona and Atltico Madrid, president Aurelio De Laurentiis is eager to rectify that situation.

Real Madrid had made a tentative inquiry about the midfielder and been quoted a number around the 80 or 90 million-euro mark.

City have seven wins from seven in all competitions this campaign but this clash with Atletico Madrid would be their sternest test so far.

And so it seemed in the opening minutes when Gemma Bonner failed to deal with the pace of Ludmila Da Silva and was booked for the resulting foul.

From the free kick Elena Linari brought a parried save from Ellie Roebuck which was then blasted against the crossbar as the City defence struggled to clear. As the ball fell into the six yard box former City player Toni Duggan fired over.

For the next few minutes the Spaniards looked to have to upper hand but on 13 minutes it was the hosts who took the lead. Keira Walsh threaded a pass through to Janine Beckie which seemed to take a slight deflection but Beckie was in the right place to shoot high into the net.

City gained in confidence but eventually Atletico came into the game but with both defences on top that early flurry of excitement was as good as it got for the rest of the half.

The home side dominated initially as the second period began but it was Atletico who almost levelled but Roebuck made a smart save from Da Silva.

Beckie almost made Atletico keeper Sari Van Veenendaal pay for a poor clearance but shot straight at the Spanish stopper.

Then just as it seemed City would take a narrow lead into the second leg the Spanish outfit struck with 10 minutes remaining with Veronica Charlyn Corral taking advantage of some slack marking.

The two clubs met in Round 32 last season with Atletico emerging victorious 3-1 on aggregate and City will have to be at their best in the return leg if they are to progress into the Champions League quarter finals.

Full Time

Man City: 1 (Beckie 13)

Atletico Madrid: 1 ( Charlyn Corral 80)

Att: 1,219

Venue: Academy Stadium
