Sampdoria midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard is close to signing for Brentford.

The Bees are boosting the Danish contingent at the club this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the 22-year-old is set for a medical this week to finalize the transfer.

The source adds that Brentford will pay around £11.8 million with £5 million in add-ons.

Damsgaard may even be involved for Brentford against Manchester United on Saturday.
