Ryan tells Brighton teammates to toughen up

Mathew Ryan wants his Brighton teammates to become a little tougher.

The goalkeeper believes they are too soft defensively, which is costing them points in the league.

They conceded three in a home loss to Burnley, which puts them in 14th in the table, only three points away from the relegation places.

Ryan spoke about the game and how they must improve in the future.

Keeper Ryan told The Argus: "Defensively we were too soft. I think every goal that they scored or they seemed to create their chances with far too much ease.

"When you defend that way you don't give yourselves a chance.

"The next test now is to show a bit of character and bounce back from this. It happens to the best teams in the world, every team out there."
