John Ruddy has joined Everton's preseason camp in Los Angeles as a replacement for injured goalkeeper Iain Turner.

"Iain's got a thigh strain," Blues physio Mick Rathbone told evertonfc.com.

"He did a lot of kicking early in the pre-season and it meant that he couldn't train and he couldn't play so it made sense to send him home for treatment."

Ruddy jetted out to replace Turner so that Chris Woods has a decent compliment of keepers for his training sessions.
