Wayne Rooney says former Everton teammate Duncan Ferguson could land the manager's job fulltime.
Rooney is back in England as Derby County player-coach and spoke for the first time yesterday since taking the job.
He said, "He's Mr Everton, Duncan. You never know, if he gets a win on Sunday it probably puts him into the reckoning to get it full-time.
“I thought the players put a real big performance in for him against Chelsea and I think the Everton fans needed that. They needed to see that from the team. But also they needed to see that from the manager on the touchline.
“I think Duncan just reminded the players that football can be simple as well. I'm really pleased for him."
