Roma coach Claudio Ranieri is delighted with the arrival of Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni.

Toni has signed on a free loan at Roma.

"He is the player that Roma were missing. He's very strong in the air, hard-working and holds up the ball for his teammates," Ranieri told Roma Channel.

"But then I am a Doubting Thomas and if I don't see him with my own eyes at the Trigoria training ground, I don't believe he's our player."
