It was confirmed on Friday that Hans-Dieter Flick will remain in charge of Bayern until at least the winter break, but speculation is continuing regarding who the club's next permanent manager will be.

Hainer said: "The board of directors will try to get the best coach for Bayern Munich.

"When I say the best, it means, on one hand, a coach who we want to have and, on the other, one who is available.

"Pep Guardiola is a great coach but he has a contract with Manchester City."

Bayern sacked Niko Kovac earlier this month following a 5-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Sky Sports says City are considering a move for Coman if Leroy Sane joins the German champions as expected in the summer.

Pep Guardiola managed France international Coman for a season during his time at the Allianz Arena, and the club view the 23-year-old as the ideal replacement for Sane, who was ruled out for seven months in August with an ACL injury.

Coman, who started his career at Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Juventus and then on to Bayern, has made 139 appearances for the Bundesliga club across all competitions, netting 28 goals.

The Norway international is a target for Manchester United and Juventus ahead of the January market. He has also been linked with Bayern Munich.

However, Alf Ingve Berntsen, who coached Haaland as a junior with Byrne, told Goal: "The tactical requirements in Bayern and Liverpool would be a little too high right now - after all he has only played in Norway and Austria so far. And also a short time. Going to Bavaria would be difficult for him right now. Of course, he is still far from Robert Lewandowski's level.

"Erling is a present character, the back seat would not be easy for him. So while Lewandowski is playing at this level, a move to Bavaria would not make sense. What many people forget is: Haaland was not even a starting player in Salzburg a while ago. He did not play regularly until August this year.

"Of course he seems a shark with his goals, but it would probably be best to stay in Salzburg for another year. The most important thing for Erling is to play regularly at the highest possible level. It would be bad for him not to play in his new club."

Bayern wanted to sign Sane last summer but those hopes ended when he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in August.

The Telegraph says the injury has not deterred Bayern in their bid to land Sane and they are set to return for the Germany international next summer - if not sooner in January.

And Sane's City team-mates are becoming increasingly convinced the winger will join Bayern Munich next year.

Although initially ruled out until March, there is growing optimism he could return to action in February and play a part in the final months of the campaign.

"We did the double and then I became international.

Barca paid 145m to sign Coutinho from Liverpool but were willing to let the Brazilian forward leave the Nou Camp on loan during the transfer window.

He ended up joining Bayern for the season but The Sun says Pochettino was keen to bring him to north London.

The Argentine had previously worked with him while he was in charge of Espanyol.

And he feels as though the 27-year-old would have made a big difference to his Spurs rebuild.

If Bayern want to play possession football, there is no better solution than Guardiola," Matthaus told Bild.

It would be a win for Bayern Munich and for the Bundesliga."

Hans Flick is expected to remain interim manager until June after replacing the sacked Niko Kovac last week.

For now, interim coach Hansi Flick is in charge of Bayern, who are third in the league, stepping in for the sacked Niko Kovac.

But Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka have teased a potential return for Guardiola, who has been linked with a move back to Bavaria by reports in Germany.

I think you know Pep better than me," Goretzka joked to Neuer.

And Neuer replied: Pep knows you too for sure!"

In Germany, it's been suggested Guardiola tops Bayern's shortlist of names to succeed Kovac as permanent coach next season.

Bayern Munich were confident of landing the Chelsea flyer to replace Arjen Robben on the wing at the Allianz Arena.

But Hudson-Odoi, preparing for England's Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro today, said: I had one conversation (with Lampard).

I just had a conversation with him and then from there, I knew this is where I wanted to stay 100 per cent.

I can't say exactly what he said but he just said he believes in me, he wants me to work hard and if I believe in myself then he believes in me and things will go well for me at this club.

And he wants me to play for him.

They were encouraging signs for me that you want to hear from a manager, that he believes in me and has faith in me, that I can become a good player and achieve a lot of stuff at the club.

"I was excited. It was exciting times that a new manager was coming in and also you know that he will play at least some of the youth boys as well."
