Robert Lewandowski reflects on first months with Barcelona: It's where I wanted to be

Robert Lewandowski is delighted after his first months with Barcelona.

Lewandowski has started his Barcelona career superbly with 11 goals in eight games. He's now with the Polish national team for the UEFA Nations League games against the Netherlands and Wales.

“I feel great in Barcelona, my adaptation has been very good," said Lewandowski to local media. “I know that the path here was not easy, but now I am at Barcelona, which is where I wanted to be and that is the most important thing.

“I already know some words in Spanish. I learned know to ask for food in a restaurant. New culture, places, cities, they are things I could learn after a few weeks. Maybe with time I realised what I could learn even unconsciously.

“I am learning how another club works, how it's managed. They are new and interesting experiences. Looking at it all changes your perspective. To have the chance to be at these type of clubs is an added value, not just for the coming months and years but for life."

Asked about Barcelona youth players looking up to him, he said: “I don't feel like their guru. They are well informed, open to speaking and aren't afraid of asking anything. I share my knowledge and experience with them.

“Remember there are some experiences players at Barcelona and I don't belong just with them or the young group; arriving at a new team you have to have good contact with everyone.

“Although they are very young, they are already showing good qualities and they will improve very quickly."
