Former Leicester City star Robbie Savage believes Newcastle United are down.

The Toon lost 3-2 at Norwich on Saturday.

Speaking on his BBC Radio 5 Live 6-0-6 show, the former Wales international said: “Newcastle looked organised in Rafa Benitez's first game against Leicester, but today they were all over the place.

“They are gone, they are going down.

“The concern would be that after equalising the first time they conceded. The same thing then happened again. Surely, at this stage of the season, you see games out."

He continued: “Remember when Newcastle went down last time? They had some really good professionals suited for the Championship.

“But look at these Villa and Toon squads now. Are these players going to get their team straight back up?"
