Rico Lewis enjoyed a full 90 as Manchester City defeated Girona 2-0 in today's friendly.

Lewis has admitted that the victory over Girona serves as ideal preparation for the short-term future, with the Carabao Cup Round of 16 clash with Liverpool fast approaching.

"Yeah, I think it was pretty good," he told City's website. "They're a good level of opposition.

"With the break and stuff it's a good game to get in before the Liverpool game and getting back in to the Premier League. It's a good game to fill in the break.

"It's going to be a really good game against Liverpool. It's a really good test against one of the best teams in the world."

The teenager also spoke about how he spent his time during the break in the domestic season, and spoke about his hopes for the remainder of the campaign.
