Newcastle United new signing Sandro Tonali's deal does include the option of another year.
The Magpies have secured the former AC Milan midfielder on a five-year contract.
However, Chronicle Live states that Newcastle can tie Tonali down to a sixth year if they wish.
If he is sold, Milan will earn 10% of any future fees that Newcastle pick up from other clubs.
The fee for Tonali is set at around £60 million, with the midfielder yet to pick his shirt number.
While he wore no.8 at Milan, Anthony Gordon already has the number, which means the no.6 may be an option.
