REVEALED: Man Utd boss Rangnick rejected Arsenal over 'diva' Ozil

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick turned down the manager's job at Arsenal, it has been revealed.

After the retirement of Arsene Wenger in 2018, Arsenal went well down the road to appointing Rangnick as the Frenchman's replacement, reports Kicker.

However, the German pulled out of negotiations after learning Arsenal had renewed the contract of Mesut Ozil without his say-so.

The source states Rangnick walked out on the deal because of extending the contract "without consultation [...] with playmaker diva Mesut Özil". Instead, the Gunners turned to Unai Emery.

Rangnick enjoyed a winning start with United on Sunday with victory over Crystal Palace.
