QPR boss Harry Redknapp has cast doubt on a January deal for Toronto FC striker Jermain Defoe.
Redknapp failed to clinch a deadline deal in August and remains keen on his former Tottenham, Portsmouth and West Ham United striker.
"It depends on how much he costs, if the deal is too expensive we cannot help it. He has a very important contract," said Redknapp.
"We need a fourth striker, but we will have to find the right person."
Leicester City are also chasing the England international.
