QPR boss Harry Redknapp will seek to add to his squad in January.

But he knows it will not be easy to compete in the market, with the club relying on home gates of just 17,000.

He said: "We're not talking about spending massive amounts of money. Maybe we can get a couple of loans in.

"You're only allowed 25 players whatever you do, so if a couple come in we will have to let a couple out.

"The Premier League is not a level playing field and it never will be.

"There are probably seven teams up there at the top, then everybody else has to get on with it. "When some clubs can spend £40million and pay incredible wages that's the way it is. We just have to get on with it.

"It's not that on any given day you can't beat those teams - you can.

"We nearly beat Manchester City and were better than Liverpool on the day.

"That is what makes it such a good league."
