Real Valladolid goalkeeper Jacobo is set for trials with Celtic.

Valladolid shot-stopper Jacobo, full name Jacobo Sanz Ovejero, has a year left on his contract with the relegated Spanish outfit.

Manager Neil Lennon wants Jacobo on a five-day trial and he is expected to train with the Parkhead squad this week.

Valladolid president Carlos Suarez has confirmed talks for Jacobo, who could cost £600,000, are at an advanced stage.

"Talks with Celtic are at an advanced stage," he told the Daily Record. "If all the conditions are favourable for all parties I don't see a problem with the sale."
