Fran Garcia was delighted with a winning start for Real Madrid on Saturday.

The fullback, who was re-signed from Rayo Vallecano this summer, was was happy after their win at Athletic Bilbao.

“There's no better way to celebrate my birthday than being at the club of my dreams," he said.

"The best present was the win a couple of days ago. This year and the year of my debut in the Primera División should be marked on the calendar. I'm really happy.

“At San Mamés they don't make it easy for you. The team was up to the job and we got off to a good start in LaLiga with a great result and a positive feeling. This is the way forward. We feel very good as a team and individually. We're going to try to extend this momentum and try to get as many positive results as possible."
