Rangers skipper James Tavernier has emerged as a target for Southampton.
The Daily Express says the Ibrox defender is high up on a shortlist of targets to replace Saints' right-back Cedric Soares, who has agreed a switch to Inter Milan.
It's understood Saints have already put out feelers to assess Tavernier's availability.
Now Rangers must brace themselves for a concrete bid for their club captain, who only signed a new deal last September.
Tavernier is tied to the Light Blues until 2022 and there is no set fee release clause in his contract.
It would take a bid in the region of £8million for Rangers to even allow Saints to come to the negotiating table.
