Norway coach Stale Solbakken admits he speaks monthly with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

With Haaland key to their Euro2024 qualifying hopes, Solbakken says he wants to keep their star calm and comfortable.

"I think that the ordinary man and woman on the street may have a tendency to underestimate what it takes. Both from the mental part in relation to how hard you have to be every time, and how good you have to be at relaxing between matches," Solbakken told VG.

"After all, he is one of those who has to carry the biggest load when we get together. He does that too. At the same time, I also make sure that he is allowed to be himself among the boys.

"We try to make things as normal as possible."
