Nice sports chief Florent Ghisolfi has cooled talk of a deal for Hugo Lloris.
Tottenham goalkeeper Lloris has been linked with OGCN after the departure of Kasper Schmeichel for Anderlecht.
But Ghisolfi told Nice-Matin: "It's a story that explains current football and the impact of social networks very well. In the last minutes of the transfer window the agent tried to get him to terminate his contract at Tottenham, but he didn't refuse Nice because in practice our club didn't offer him anything.
"As I told him at the end of last season, we made the choice of (Marcin) Bulka and we would never have imagined, sportingly and financially, the possibility that Hugo could be number 2 in Nice. But he loves the club and could be right for us at the right time.
"We're thinking about it."
