Newcastle winger Saint-Maximin: Owners happy to see me play like that

Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin has paid tribute to manager Eddie Howe.

Saint-Maximin has kicked off the season in superb form and was outstanding for Sunday's 3-3 draw with Manchester City.

And he has since met with club's owners, telling Chronicle Live: "They are very happy to see me play like that.

"They trust me and believe in me. It is good to see that because they know what I am capable to do. Everyone here at the training ground knows what I am capable to do."

Saint-Maximin said that the club needed to 'keep going' in its pursuit of its aims this campaign.

"He changed everything here, the mentality, the training and we can see everything starts to work. We need to keep going and see what happens.

"We have just played against Man City and you saw that, if we play like that against every team - for sure we have the chance (for Europe).

"That is the difficult part, we need to keep going and play like that. That is what the manager tries to do, he helps the team a lot."
