Newcastle have been left unimpressed by Benfica's asking price for Antonio Silva.

Newcastle chiefs appreciate the qualities of Silva, Benfica's 19-year-old centre-back, as well as Edmond Tapsoba, of Bayer Leverkusen.

However, no proposal has been made to Benfica after learning of their valuation.

O Jogo says Benfica are demanding €100m to sell Silva, which has left Newcastle unimpressed.

The Toon are now expected to turn to Tapsoba in the final days of the summer market.
