Newcastle United are leading the race for Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell.

The Mirror says the centre-half, who can also play at left-back, is wanted by QPR, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion, too.

The Magpies had an August bid rejected for the unsettled defender, 27, when he slapped in a transfer request.
