Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi is excited with Nigeria on the brink of World Cup qualification.
Early on in his career, Ameobi looked on course for England honours and was even picked out by Sven Goran Eriksson as one for the future.
It never quite happened for him despite him scoring seven goals for England Under-21s.
"That's a long time ago," he said. "I was 21 when Sven said that and I had the world at my feet.
"Of course, it's disappointing I never made it into the main squad. But to think that all these years later I have another opportunity with Nigeria is a great feeling.
"I know nothing about playing in a tournament of this magnitude. I always thought I'd be sat in a bar watching the World Cup, like I've done in the past.
"It's totally different going away with international sides than at club level.
"So to have the chance at my age would be unbelievable."
