Newcastle United are reportedly on the verge of firing manager Steve McClaren.
The Daily Express is reporting the former England national team boss will be sacked within the next 24 hours following the club's 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.
The loss leaves the Magpies sitting in second-last place on the Premier Ladder.
It is understood club owner Mike Ashley held crisis talks with managing director Lee Charnley following the loss to the Cherries and the decision was made to part ways with McClaren in an effort to salvage Newcastle's season.
