Newcastle United are readying a bid for Bayer Leverkusen attacker Moussa Diaby.

Foot Mercato says Newcastle see Diaby as a potential replacement for Allan Saint-Maximin.

Newcastle are in contact with Bayer, which are prepared to sell Diaby.

Bayer are demanding €90m to sell the Frenchman, who has a contract to 2025.

For their part, Newcastle would be willing to meet Bayer's valuation.
