Newcastle United are set to smash their club record fee by splashing a whopping £18million for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino.
Newcastle are in the market to sign a new striker in the January transfer window and now according to reports from the Daily Mail, it has been claimed that the Magpies have tabled an £18m bid for Berahino.
22-year-old Berahino has been heavily linked with n exit from The Hawthorns in January after struggling for regular minutes on the pitch and the Magpies are hoping to lure the English star by placing a club record bid.
However, Tony Pulis indicated that perhaps Berahino may not necessarily be headed for the exit door after the young forward scored in the 2-2 FA Cup third round draw with Bristol City on Saturday.
