Newcastle are in talks for AC Milan team manager Andrea Romero.
La Repubblica says Romero is on the brink of agreeing terms with Newcastle about a move to England.
He has been absent from Milan's US preseason tour.
Romero has been with Milan since 2017, having previously been team manager of Inter Milan for two years.
Should he agree to the deal, Romero will follow midfielder Sandro Tonali in swapping Milan for Newcastle this summer.
