Newcastle determined to outbid West Ham for Man Utd outcast Lingard

Newcastle United are determined to land Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.

The Magpies are in desperate need of reinforcements and have made Lingard their "top priority", says The Times.

However, after a stellar loan spell at West Ham last season, the England international is believed to be on the Hammers radar once again and could be tempted to try and re-sign the midfielder in January.

Lingard's contract is set to expire at Old Trafford this upcoming summer and could move for a cut-price fee in January after mainly featuring on the bench for the Red Devils.

Finances will be no issue to Newcastle United given their recent Saudi-led takeover, however their current Premier League standing could ultimately act as a decider for the majority of players.
