Newcastle defender Emil Krafth: New owners great for fans

Newcastle United defender Emil Krafth has hailed the impact of the club's Saudi owners.

Newcastle will meet Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final today.

"I perceive it as very, very positive from our fans. It is understood that the fans have wanted a change of ownership for many years, they were not happy with the previous owner. It feels like the fans have been waiting for years for an owner who wants to invest," Krafth told Fotbollskanalen.

"I am very happy for them, and because they have got such an owner now. For the club and as a player I am delighted that we have owners who believe in us and who want to make Newcastle a top club again."

The 28-year-old is further asked if he has noticed any differences since the change of ownership.

"I don't think we players think too much about that, but it's probably more from the outside. The fans always want to see transfers and that the team is doing well, as well. But as a player, you don't think about it.

"You are there to do your job and focus on football. It's over our heads and something we neither decide nor decide on, so there's nothing we can do about it. As a player you are here to do your job and that is what you do."
