Manchester City chief Brian Marwood is being linked with a move to Newcastle United.
The Times says Amanda Staveley, the Newcastle United director, is waiting for the green light from the club's new Saudi owners before sacking Steve Bruce.
All decisions must be approved by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), and Marwood could be given a senior role in the restructure of the club.
Marwood is currently in charge of City's global operations.
Bruce has been in charge at Newcastle since 2019, but the likes of Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Lucien Favre have been strongly linked with the job.
